A triumphant Laura arrived back in the office on Monday morning after completing the Race for Life held in Roundhay Park, Leeds last Wednesday 6 July.
Unfortunately we do not have the photographic evidence we promised you of her crossing the finishing line, however she is proudly displaying her medal as the proof we demanded! The race was held in the evening and attracted more than 5,200 entrants. Although the weather was "absolutely freezing and pouring with rain" Laura was able to complete the 5km run in 30 minutes, a sterling effort as she has never done anything like this before. Laura reports that she was tired but felt a real sense of achievement. She enjoyed it so much that she and her friends are considering taking part in the Moon Walk next year. This is a 26 mile walk, at night, held in aid of Breast Cancer charities. Now that should be a photograph worth seeing!
There is now a steady trail of people visiting Laura's desk with the cash they owe her. At the last count she thinks she has raised more than £300.
Well done, Laura!
